My First Time
Insight
Like donating blood, first-time romance is a nerve-wracking but sentimental milestone. Yet, 73% of Gen-Z report feelings of loneliness. Instead of watching people fall in love, Gen-Z needs a little push to meet others.
Idea
Canadian Blood Services will set up a blind date with first-time Gen-Z blood donors and match them with their motivations for donating blood, calling it “My First Time." They can experience their first time donating while sharing their feelings together rather than doing it alone. Who knows? Maybe they’ll find love while doing something so rewarding.

New function on the GiveBlood app for the blind dates
Set up for the date. Donors receive a card after they are finished.
They can have a photo booth token with props at the very end.
Script:
It was my first time. I had butterflies, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I asked my friend who had done it before, “What should I expect?”
They told me, “Take it slow and trust the process.”
And honestly, we moved faster than I thought. It felt like we really made a deep connection. And that’s how I saved three lives with Canadian Blood Services.
We would release dramatic-looking confessional videos about people’s first date—I mean donation.
